The European Parliament has adopted a resolution to increase sanctions against Iran
Bayan News – The European Parliament approved a resolution to increase sanctions against Iran on Thursday (April 25).
By approving this resolution, the European Parliament condemned Iran’s missile and drone attacks on Israel and called for further sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
The resolution of the European Parliament also emphasized the need for the designation of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist group.
This resolution, which was passed with a majority of 357 votes in favor and 20 against, underscores the previous request of the European Parliament to include the name of the IRGC in the list of recognized terrorist organizations by the European Union.
In its resolution, the European Parliament condemned the attacks carried out by Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthi rebels in Yemen, prior to and during Iran’s attacks on Israel, while emphasizing the importance of ensuring the security of Israel and its citizens.
Members of the European Parliament expressed concerns over the escalation of tensions in the region and called for the inclusion of the entire Hezbollah organization in the list of recognized terrorist organizations by the European Union.
