Bayan News – The Taliban’s Ministry of Agriculture says that Afghan saffron has been recognized as the best tea flavor in the world for the ninth time at the International Taste Institute in Belgium.
The ministry added in a statement on Tuesday (June 4): “Afghan saffron has been ranked first in terms of taste and awarded the trophy for the ninth time at the International Taste Institute in Belgium, where saffron from the Herat Saffron Company represented Afghanistan in the laboratory tests.”
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, quality tests of saffron from all producing countries are conducted annually at the International Taste Institute in Belgium, and this year, as in previous years, Afghan saffron has again claimed the top spot in terms of quality and taste.
It is worth mentioning that in the last solar year, 8,304 hectares of land in 26 provinces of Afghanistan were cultivated with saffron, and more than 23 metric tons of saffron were collected.”
