Prime Minister of Pakistan: Taliban Should Move Towards Forming an Inclusive Government
Bayan News – Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, urged the Taliban of Afghanistan to respect human rights, particularly the rights of women.
The Prime Minister made these statements on Friday (September 27) during the fourth day of the United Nations General Assembly, emphasizing that Islamabad supports the expectations of the international community regarding Afghanistan.
Mr. Sharif also called on the Taliban to move towards establishing an inclusive government.
He further stated that Pakistan seeks to normalize conditions in Afghanistan as soon as possible.
The Prime Minister noted that terrorist groups, including the Khorasan branch of ISIS, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, Al-Qaeda, and others, are present in Afghanistan.
Shahbaz Sharif also urged the Taliban to combat terrorism, particularly against those responsible for deadly attacks in Pakistan.
Previously, the foreign ministers of Germany, Australia, Canada, and the Netherlands warned on Wednesday, October 4, that if the situation of women and girls in Afghanistan does not change, they will take the Taliban to the International Court of Justice.
