Bayan news

A group of women and girls in Kabul and Takhar provinces started a street protest today Saturday (April 29) against the policies of the caretaker government of Kabul.

This protest, which was launched two days before the United Nations meeting to be held in Qatar, women and girls in their protest asked the international community to put pressure on the Taliban authorities in order to restore the rights of women and girls.

Protesting girls in Kabul also issued a six-point resolution and it is stated in this resolution that the recognition of the caretaker government of Kabul should be prevented.

The resolution states that the United Nations must take a firm and clear stand against the anti-human behavior and misogynistic policies of the Taliban.

Meanwhile, a group of girls and women in Takhar province have also protested and asked the international community to take serious action to reopen girls’ schools and allow women to work.

Their protest, which was held in a closed space and away from the forces of the Islamic Emirate, rejected any actions of the United Nations to recognize the current government of Kabul.

In the next two days, the United Nations will host a meeting with the presence of special representatives of countries for Afghanistan in Doha, the capital of Qatar, and this meeting will be held behind closed doors.
