Iran-Israel Tensions: 350 Flights Over Afghanistan’s Airspace in 24 Hours

Bayan News – Following the escalation of the security crisis in the Middle East and rising tensions between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel, international flights over Afghanistan’s airspace have significantly increased.

Imamuddin Ahmadi, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Transport and Aviation, stated to the media on Wednesday (October 9) that currently, 350 flights are conducted over Afghanistan’s airspace within 24 hours.

According to this Taliban official, this number was around 100 flights last year.

Meanwhile, the organization Flightreader24 showed on October 2 of this year that the number of flights over Afghanistan’s airspace had reached 176.

The increase in flights over Afghanistan has been observed following Iran’s attack on Israel.

However, Flightreader24 did not specify which airlines had the most traffic over Afghanistan’s airspace.

Flight traffic over Afghanistan has notably increased after Israel’s attacks on Palestine, Lebanon, and the potential threat of an attack on Iran.

Additionally, reports suggest that if the security crisis in the Middle East persists, the Taliban’s revenue from Afghanistan’s air transit could reach $100 million annually.
