U.S. Withdrawal from Afghanistan: Promotion of an American General Suspended
Bayan News – The Washington Post has reported that the military promotion of Christopher T., a three-star American general who led U.S. forces during the evacuation from Afghanistan, has been suspended.
The American outlet wrote on Saturday (November 23) that the promotion of this general was blocked by a Republican senator in the U.S. Senate.
According to the report, this action follows a promise made two months ago by Donald Trump, the president-elect of the United States, to investigate the country’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.
A few days ago, international media also reported that Trump’s team is preparing a list of U.S. Department of Defense officers with the intent to dismiss them.
It is speculated that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff might also be on this list.
The president-elect of the United States had promised that, if he returns to power, he will remove certain Pentagon officials, including those involved in the Afghanistan withdrawal process.
