Manizha Bakhtari Wins European Security and Cooperation Organization Award
Bayan News: Manizha Bakhtari, Afghanistan’s ambassador to Austria, has been awarded the annual (White Ribbon) award of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
According to the report published in the Hasht Subh newspaper on Wednesday evening (July 10), this annual award is given to one of the permanent members or one of the Asian and Mediterranean partners of this organization for outstanding activities in the field of human rights, women’s rights, and issues related to freedom of expression.
Ms. Bakhtari stated that Afghanistan is one of the Asian allies of this organization.
She added: “Although I did not nominate myself for the award, other members had nominated me for this award and the selection committee had approved it.”
According to Ms. Bakhtari, this award is scheduled to be announced on the sidelines of the permanent members’ meeting on July 11th.
The Afghan ambassador to Austria also expressed that she will dedicate this award to the women and girls of Afghanistan.
